A village in two halves, under trees

Liss is really two villages. West Liss sits on the old Portsmouth road with the church and the older cottages, East Liss grew up round the station with Victorian and Edwardian villas and railway cottages, and the two have filled in between with bungalows and houses from the sixties onwards. Hill Brow climbs above it all. The roofs run the whole range: clay tile on the old, slate on the villas, concrete on the rest.
